June and July News

Who stole our hanging baskets?

On Saturday 14th June, when the MS Centre and surrounding businesses were closed, a thief, prepared with his blue IKEA bag stole all 4 of our hanging baskets. The newly planted summer baskets had only been in place for 5 days. They should be looking at their best now, just like the remaining ‘spare’ basket which had not been hung. Despite the disappointment, our LMSTC community quickly rallied round and David raided his shed to find 3 more planters which are now thriving and bringing colour back to the entrance of the Centre.

Oxygen

The chamber continues to be very busy with lots of members taking advantage of the extra sessions to get their oxygen boost, and the fans have been working to full capacity to keep participants cooler. The high demand for oxygen has meant that many sessions have been full, so please let us know as soon as you can if you are unable to make your booking slot, there is often a waiting list for popular time slots.

Physiotherapy

We have been delighted to welcome four second year Physiotherapy students from Nottingham University completing their 5 week work placement. The extra help is much appreciated by staff and centre members. Our student physios have been able to give extra 1:1 assistance and have brought lots of enthusiasm to group sessions.

The Centre is still looking at options to replace our treadmill.

Group Physiotherapy sessions:

The Litegait donation offer remains in place — £180 for 15 sessions. These sessions must be prebooked with the physiotherapy team.

40th Anniversary

June 22nd was the date of our very successful Canal Boat adventure. The warm weather was ideal for the lunchtime picnic, and everyone had a lovely, relaxing day, enjoying the local scenery and good company.

It’s fair to say that our 40th birthday celebrations are emphasising the ethos of LMSTC. Our community may have a few health issues, but that is no reason to stop us from living life to the full. It’s what we CAN DO, nothing is impossible!
