October News

October News

The centre has had another busy month. Lots of bookings in both the oxygen chamber and physiotherapy sessions.
Our superb team, led by Craig, have had lots of Leicester City and Leicester Tigers matches where they have collected donations and organised the parking for fans. Their work is a major fund raiser for the centre, but new volunteers are always needed to maximise income.
November and December will see lots more matches, so if you could give your time to assist, you would be a very welcome addition to the team. Contact Jo Hill at the centre for more information.

Curry Night

The LMSTC curry night was a great success. The 28th October saw seventy-eight curry lovers having a lovely evening at the Chef and Spice. The evening raised a magnificent £1500 for the MS Centre. Massive thanks to Syed and his lovely team, and all the participants who contributed to such a successful evening.

Physiotherapy news

The physiotherapy team took delivery of an Invictus Active Trainer to add to their ever-expanding collection of specialist equipment. This purchase was possible thanks to the fund-raising efforts of Scraptoft Golf Club. It provides the centre with a machine which helps wheelchair users to exercise from their chair. Participants can burn calories, condition shoulder blades by building muscle and strength, fine tune pushing techniques and build general fitness.

The centre now needs to raise around £500 in new funds to purchase a suitable wheelchair with pneumatic tyres to make the machine accessible to a wider range of people.

Fund Raising News

Kate and George will be running their first marathon – Marathon des Alpes Maritime (Nice to Cannes) on 3rd November. Their target is to raise £2500 for the Centre.
